Match Preview

MU will visit London Stadium, West Ham's headquarters in Matchweek 5 of the Premier League 2021/22, Sunday (19/09/2021) at 6:30 p.m. Indian time.

Manchester United has performed well in the Premier League this season. Of the 4 matches that have been played, the  Red Devils have not even been touched by a defeat (W3 D1 L0) which makes them now occupy the top position of the standings with a score of 10 points.

In their last match in the Premier League, MU was able to win a landslide victory 4-1 over Newcastle United. Cristiano Ronaldo who underwent his debut match was able to score 2 goals, while the other 2 goals were scored by Bruno Fernandes and Jesse Lingard.

But unfortunately, MU's slick appearance did not continue into the Champions League. In the Champions League opening match last week, MU was humiliated by Young Boys with a score of 1-2. MU actually took the lead through Ronaldo's goal. However, Young Boys were able to reverse the position because of a ridiculous blunder made by Lingard before the match ended.

Meanwhile, West Ham this season also managed to steal the attention after performing well. West Ham has not been touched by defeat in the 4 matches they have lived in the Premier League this season (W2 D2 L0). Currently, West Ham is in the eighth position in the standings with a collection of 8 points.

In their last match in the Premier League, West Ham drew 0-0 against Southampton. After that, West Ham was able to continue their positive trend by winning 2-0 over the host Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League opener in the middle of last week. The two winning goals for West Ham were scored by Michail Antonio and Declan Rice.

At the last meeting in the English Premier League last season, Manchester United were able to pick a narrow 1-0 victory over West Ham at Old Trafford. MU's only winning goal in the match was created by Craig Dawson's own goal in the 53rd minute.
